wake up at 730am..ops ..gonna be late..cos meeting jiaqing and peixuan at hong him complex..they are breifing me on their canvassing of food stalls..cos i be at doing the media preview this sat with foreign press (2 philiphines and 1 msia).They will be coming to cover our event with STB.

By the time i packed everything..Have to bring alot of things..cos later celebrating Zhirong birthday in the noon at orchard and running training in the evening at NUS..I be out the whole day..I let VIvi out for a run around the house..cos later she will be in the cage til my bro came back..Feed the dog ..Know that i be late..Nvm..later take taxi loh..

Then get out of my house..take a taxi...when reached there ..$9.30...wah so damn ex..esp erp charges..wah really heart pain...hehe...nvm i am late..when reached there..could not find the hawker centre leh...give JQ a call..gt a shock..they are at maxwell hawker centre..ALmost fainted...I very 4getful very lately..keep mixing up all the schedules...JQ tell me it quite near..it walkable...

I am fuming mad with myself...I then walk and walk ...interestingly pass my some interesting shophouse with a very unique and historical outlook..should have bring my slr along..can capture them...hope to go back there again to take them...

Finally saw the maxwell hawker centre..JQ gt me a cold soya bean drink..It really cool me down..it very nice of him..We then went to look for the rickshaw noodle stall..it quite a interesting dish..esp it name..i am curious what is all about..WE are going to let the foreign media try and cover this food..my job is to make sure that i am there at the stall before them on sat..so that the media can get to the correct stall and help out with the stall owner to prepare and distribute the food to the media..

We went to the stall...saw this quite old couple preparing the food..I saw the rickshaw noodles in one of the pot..WE then intro ourselves..actually we trying to convince them to sponsor their food to the foreign media ppl on sat..and in return they will get foreign media publicity..We then start intro ourselves and this sat event thingy..the aunite say no ..no..no..not interested..i gt shocked ..i try all my ways and means to convince her..finally she agreed...hehe..was so relieved..We double confirmed the orders with her..as in the portions she need to prepare...
She sound quite different than just now.very nice..

Since we are here..i told JQ we also must try..erm..i am a glutton...hehe..just want to try gd food..i order a bowl and we shared..it only 60cent each.the auntie refused to let us try.hey..the noodles is really a very simple dish with yellow noodles,some green veg and soup..that it..no meat..it really a very simple dishbut the soup is very nice..it just occur and i reflect to myself ...wah ..people living in the past are not so fussy as in come to food..most impt..is stomach full ,cheap and can be consumed quickly..cos i notice u can eat it with just a spoon..dun need chopsticks..i suppose the rickshaw pullers eat to get full and not for the taste ..cos it quite bland according to standards of today...things have change so much..hehe..actually i have a debate with JQ ..he saying this noodle was sold by ppl pulling riskshaw..i say it was consumed by rickshaw pullers..of cos the best person is to ask the auntie and uncle..Hehe..i am correct..Well we also ask more about the history regarding this noodle and their stall..the stall owners also tell us initially they are not interested in sponsoring the food cos most of the ppl will like it cos it kind of bland..Actually i already have noticed that initially when i saw what the stall was selling..actually rickshaw noodles is not the main thing they are selling..they are selling mee hoon ..so i know this is not their main business..i assure them that the foreign media especially mention to us that they want to try their food ...they will be impressed with the history of this simple dish..as this dish used to be main staples for all forefathers esp rishshaw pullers..history is really interesting...

then we take a slow walk to chinatown..actually our plan is to go hong lim complex..cos it kind of early..we decided to go chinatown..Peixuan haven finish canvassing the stalls ..i am thinking since 3 of us are here..will be easier to canvass for stalls of the event on the 16july..We went to chinatown..was brainstorming what stalls to look for...I then remember there is this stall that sell very traditional desserts..like sesamee , hua sheng and xin ren desserts..which they used the traditional machine to blend into a paste form..I roughly noe where is it..show them around...
It was open..happen to see the boss there..we begin our persuasion again..intro ourselves ..our event...the boss was very keen..he talk to us like long lost friends..everything no problem..hehe..begin abit kaypoh..i ask him more qns..cos i rem this stall has been around since i was young..like 5 or 6 year old..always go there to eat claypot rice..this stall is just beside the claypot rice..but i have never seen it open in the evening in the past..but now he is opened in the evening..he tells us times are bad..economy not gd..the worst thing is his regular and loyal customers are going lesser and lesser..cos he say all dieing liao..erm..and the young gen dun noe how to appreciate his desserts..and so many desserts stall have opened up around the area ..he faced stiff competition..

i also notice there is a kitchen god stature in the front of his stall...saw that at the rickshaw noodle stall too..interesting...

I then asked him how come his name board on his stall is called "second auntie sweet water"in chinese..I find it interesting..he then tell us ..cos his mum was the one who start selling last time ..at hawker centre below before moving up til now..His mum is known as 2nd auntie..and when they move up to the new stall which was where is it now..the name board maker just make that cos could not find his mum at that time..from then on ..they have been keeping to that name..wah it's so interesting..everything happens for a reason..and again..i kind of hungry..want to try..want to order to try..the boss ..just take 3 bowl of different flavour for us..we want to pay..he say no need..hehe...wah gd food..the dessert really solid..it really very fine..but u can still feel the texture and paste..it so original and healthy ..not like the desserts like who are just are syrups and colourings..i give it the thumbs up...i recommened to all the ppl who are reading my blog to try it..i be uploading the photos..soon..so it quite easier to find it.

then we went to another stall with the idea of making rojak as our food item in our event..the stall also serves tahu ...will write on this soon...

we then proceed to Hong lim complex..to look for bak kut teh,pork jelly and sharkmeat..bak kut teh..hmm...was my fav beside tim sum...the hong lim complex hawker centre is a real gem..so many gd food under one roof..saw the final ipoh hor fun..and the chicken curry mee..have heard about them for quite some time..hmm..they are here...hehe..work first leh..eat later...We went to look for the bak kut teh auntie..Actually pei xuan has already lias with her..just want to confirm and lias with her on this sat event..but she kind of concerned about e time they are coming ..cos at 1130am..it quite packed there...she was saying better to keep it earlier..so gt to rush the 1st stop abit...but other than that...she is ok with sponsoring us..

She then say ..u all want to eat something?my eye and reflexes brighten up..hehe...she is playing my weakness..another way to put it...but JQ and PS say they abit full..gt to go up to look for another stall..I just add in and say..we will be back soon when done..hmm..

we went up..and saw the stall selling pork jelly and sharkmeat..it the same stall..i never seen or eaten pork jelly and sharkmeat..but the shop is not open..what strange dishes!!hehe..that would mean must try..we tot that the shop will be opening later..after waiting for some time..the stall still closed..i went to the their neighbour and saw are they open today..they say they having off today..oh no..that mean gt to ask them thru phone liao..

we then went down to eat the bak kut teh...again..we are given a treat..PS is too full liao..we gt 2 bowl of bak kut ,3 bowl of rice and 1 salty veg and 1 plate of you tiao..No time to waste..i tuck in..haha...it gd..in the mean time i notice there is another bak kut teh shop beside...the auntie boss look very familar..i think i have seen her somewhere...i keep thinking..i look at their name board..bak kut teh from hokkien street..the hokkien st..stikes bell..oh..this is the one i used to eat with my parents..almost every week last time..we used to eat at hokkien street..their bak kut teh damn big shot last time..need to come every early to eat..alot of ppl go Hk st to eat at 6am...esp elderly..they close about 1pm...haha...it just bring back my memories...my dad even noe the lady boss and big boss which is the cook...but i noe they move to china square..maybe they move to hong lim nw..gt to tell my dad when he come back..i guess he will be very happy..

After eating there...we went to the popular shop at the old majestic cinema...there is alot of chinese books on sale over there..JQ and Peixuan want to buy some stationary stuff for FOL.I took a bus no 143 to orchard..meeting Chee kuan and friends to celebrate Zhirong birthday 130pm ..orchard mrt..

by the time i reached there it about 140pm..call cheeguan..they are outside mac wistma atrix...Went to scoots hawker centre..chee guan want to makan...

The programme today is Karoke..i cannot make it..i dun like singing..i think only went karoke once..really cannot make it..actually i also dun noe what the prog..until i see them...zhirong say ..dun worry..just go there and sing..no need to worry..

after eating..we made our way to cuppage plaza for karoke at party world...Zhirong gt super VIP card..so should have alot of priviledges..
only 4 of us are there...more coming later..after we gt into the room..they start singing...i just keep eating..not interested in singing...

more of the people starting coming in liao..can see that they are enjoying in themselves...just tell Zhirong and Cheeguan during lunch at the foodcourt..that i be leaving in the evening for training...they say..one day dun train wont die rite??...zhirong say today mine birthday..dun want to be a spoilt spot..do decided to forgo training..

Cheeguan and zhirong encouraged me to sing...pick those easy songs for me..but i think i cant even hear myself on the mic..i think i just talking ..haha...they really encouraged me and sing along with me...after a few more songs...i really losen up..not so paiseh..dun noe how to sing..also pick up the mic..just try..

By 6p..all of them come liao..even Zhirong gf..Christina ...came..we then bring in the birthday cake..sing a song..and continue singing..it really fun..i never had so much fun for so long..really losen up alot...
After kok..some of them went off..we went to ground floor for pool..so long never play..it quite fun..

After pool we went to orchard plaza mushroom pot restaruant for dinner..we ordered a set dinner for 5 pax..it was really a sumptious dinner...

What more to ask for..really had a gd day...
